Variegated Shrimp Plant – A beautifully variegated cultivar of the classic Shrimp Plant! The Shrimp Plant gets its name from the colorful bracts that it produces spring through fall, with small white and pink flowers that peak out from it, looking very similar to a small shrimp. This particular cultivar has variegated foliage and reddish orange bracts with small white flowers, which makes it a very visually intriguing plant in the landscape. This small herbaceous perennial only gets to be about 1 foot tall and up to 2 feet wide, with a tangled web of fragile branches. The bracts and flowers emerge in late spring and remain through late fall, before the plant dies back to the ground in winter. Planting it in part or dappled shade will promote the most variegation, and keep well watered throughout the summer.
