Round Copperleaf – An easy-to-grow Texas native groundcover! This cute subshrub sports green to red-copper foliage that only grows to about 6 inches tall and 1 foot wide, making it perfect for crevice beds, garden borders, or even container gardens. In late spring through late fall, small red blooms emerge, either short or long depending on if the plant is male or female. In order to create viable seed, one of each sex is needed, but the seed sets quicky and can spread around, so we have separated out the sexes during propagation. This way, if you don't want a potentially weedy plant, you won't have to worry! This groundcover is wonderfully drought tolerant and tolerates being baked in the afternoon sun. Plant in full sun and in well-draining soil.
