The John Fairey Garden Conservation Foundation, an assumed name of Peckerwood Garden Conservation Foundation (the “Garden,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through our website, online nursery, forms, and related online services; how we use and share it; and the choices available to you.
Information we collect
- Order information: your name, email address, phone number, billing address, shipping address for shipped seed orders, the items you order, and your selected pickup date or other fulfillment details.
- Payment information: card payments are processed by Square. Your payment details are entered with Square and the Garden does not receive or store your full card number.
- Forms and communications: when you contact us, volunteer, subscribe to the newsletter, or join a nursery back-in-stock waitlist, we collect the information you choose to provide, such as your name, email address, phone number, and message.
- Donations, memberships, and tickets: when you follow a link or use an embedded service to donate, become a member, sponsor or register for an event, or reserve a tour, the service provider may collect the information required to complete that transaction or booking.
- Automatically collected information: we and our service providers may collect technical and usage information such as browser and device type, referring page or website, pages viewed, approximate geographic area, interactions with the site, and cookie or similar identifiers.

- To send confirmations, receipts, service messages, and back-in-stock notices;
- To respond to inquiries and volunteer interest;
- To provide newsletters and other communications you request;
- To support donations, memberships, events, tours, and other Garden programs;
- To understand how visitors find and use the website, evaluate whether the site supports the Garden’s mission, and improve its content and performance;
- To operate, protect, and troubleshoot the website and online services; and
- To comply with applicable legal, accounting, and recordkeeping obligations.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 (“Google Analytics”), a service provided by Google, to understand how visitors find and use the website. Google Analytics may collect information such as pages viewed, referring sources, browser and device information, approximate geographic area, and interactions such as clicks, form confirmations, and purchases. We use this information in aggregated reports to evaluate website performance and mission-related outcomes.
Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies. In Google Analytics 4, an internet protocol (IP) address may be used at collection time to derive general location information and is then discarded before it is logged by Google Analytics. The Garden does not intentionally send names, email addresses, phone numbers, form messages, mailing addresses, payment details, or other directly identifying form contents to Google Analytics.
Google’s handling of information is described in the Google Privacy Policy. You may control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Google also provides a Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Payments and external transaction services
Nursery card payments are handled by Square, Inc. The Garden does not receive or store your full card number. Square’s handling of payment information is governed by its Privacy Notice.
Donation, membership, sponsorship, and certain event transactions are handled through DonorPerfect, a service of SofterWare, Inc. Information you enter on a DonorPerfect page is handled under DonorPerfect’s Privacy Policy as well as the Garden’s applicable records and stewardship practices.
Tour and event reservations may be handled through an embedded Beyonk booking service. Information you provide during a Beyonk booking is processed by Beyonk and made available to the Garden as needed to manage the booking. See Beyonk’s Privacy Policy.
Cookies and similar technologies
The website uses cookies and similar technologies for essential functions such as keeping the nursery shopping cart working, maintaining website security, remembering appropriate preferences, and measuring website use through Google Analytics. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect the shopping cart, checkout, embedded booking tools, or other site functions.
Embedded content and external links
Some pages include embedded content or links provided by other organizations, such as booking tools, maps, videos, social networks, payment pages, and donation forms. When you interact with an embedded service or follow an external link, that provider may receive technical information and any information you submit to it. Its own privacy policy and terms govern its services.
How we share information
We do not sell personal information. We share information only as reasonably needed with service providers that help us operate the website and Garden programs, such as our website host, analytics provider, payment processor, donation and membership platform, ticketing provider, email and newsletter provider, and shipping carriers. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights or safety, or in connection with professional advice and organizational governance.
Data retention
We retain order, transaction, booking, contact, and program information for as long as reasonably needed to provide the requested service, maintain appropriate operational, legal, accounting, and historical records, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Analytics data is retained according to the settings of our Google Analytics property and may also appear in aggregated reports. Different service providers maintain information according to their own retention policies.
Your choices
You may unsubscribe from newsletters and promotional email at any time using the link included in those messages. Transactional or service messages, such as order or booking confirmations, may still be sent when needed to provide a service you requested.
You may use browser settings to control cookies and may use Google’s opt-out tool linked above. To request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information held by the Garden, contact us using the information below. We will review and respond to requests as required by applicable law and may need to verify your identity. Some information may be retained when required for legal, accounting, security, or legitimate operational purposes.
Children’s privacy
Our online shop and transaction services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information online from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect information. No method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
