Shindagger – An aptly named Agave found only in the Chihuahuan Desert (west Texas, south New Mexico, and part of Mexico). The terminal spines at the end of each leaf are definitely dagger sharp, and will give you an unexpected poke if you're not being careful. The green and yellow foliage contrasts nicely with the orangish margins of the spines. This woody lily does sucker widely and will produce many pups if allowed. To maintain this, carefully dig up unwanted pups and pawn them off to your friends and family! Plant in full sun in very well-draining soil. This Agave is very cold hardy and drought tolerant once established.
