Ferdinand Agave – A slow growing and densely compact Agave, named for Ferdinand I, the Tsar of Bulgaria. This Agave sports a light blueish tone to its foliage, and striking black tips at the end of each leaf. Over time, this woody lily forms a beautiful geometric rosette, with the imprint of each unfurled leaf being outlined in white. This interesting mosaic-like appearance is the reason it is so well loved by gardeners, even if it takes several years for it to reach that point. Plant in full sun in well draining soil. Very cold and drought tolerant once established.
