Whale’s Tongue Agave – A stoic and rigid agave that you will never have to fret over. Its broad blue leaves stand out in any landscape, providing intriguing form and shape for your yard. This bulletproof plant can survive extensive droughts and winter temperatures as low as 10 degrees Fahrenheit without any damage, earning it its spot on our Signature Plant Collection list. These small plants being offered today are actually fourth generation clones from an agave that died in the garden long ago. Unlike most other agaves that we offer, Agave ovatifolia does not often produce seed, and typically reproduces through bulbils, which are small plantlets that grow on top of a flower stalk; because pollination does not occur, these bulbils are true clones of the original plant! Plant in full sun and give it space to grow, as it will grow to be about 6 feet wide and 3-4 feet tall.
