Viburnum-Leaf Boneset – This gorgeous glossy-leafed shrub was originally collected by John Fairey and Carl Schoenfeld in 1989, with a second collection made the following year. The Viburnum-Leaf Boneset is native to the Sierra Madre Oriental where John and Carl made most of their collecting trips, and has become slightly more popular in ornamental horticulture since the early 90s. Growing up to 3 feet tall, this herbaceous shrub sports dark green glossy leaves and bright white mistflowers in early summer. Interestingly, collections of the same species by other botanists/plant explorers have slightly different leaf forms, leading us to believe that the genetics of this plant are vast and present very differently. If you've purchased this species from another nursery, it's very possible that the leaves look completely different (which means you should definitely add ours to your collection)! Plant in part sun and in well-draining soil. Although it is likely tolerant of short stints of drought, we've noticed the Viburnum-Leaf Boneset performs best when it is regularly irrigated in summer.
