White Swamp Milkweed – A hardy Texas native that is a must-have for any pollinator garden! The White Swamp Milkweed is an essential host plant for the Monarch Butterfly, with the caterpillars both eating the leaves and forming their chrysalis on the plant! Beginning in late spring and reblooming until mid to late summer, clusters of small white blooms emerge on the top of the plant stalks, which are another important food source for native pollinators. The foliage is dark green and thin, making an excellent backdrop for these vibrant flowers. As the name would suggest, the White Swamp Milkweed thrives in moist and saturated soils, so be sure to plant it in an area where it will recieve plenty of water. Plant in full sun or part shade.
