Willowleaf Beautyberry – Unlike most of its cousins, the Willowleaf Beautyberry has long thin leaves that lack the typical "fuzzy" feeling. However, this does not prevent it from being a showstopper in our Garden! Standing at about 8 feet tall at maturity, this Asian shrub is dense and glossy, especially when pruned. In early summer, large clusters of pink flowers emerge on the stems of its branches, enticing all nearby pollinators to stop by and take a break. Compared to most other plants in the Callicarpa genus, the flowers of the Willowleaf Beautyberry are quite large and open, and are a delicate pale pink. In late summer, these unique flowers are replaced by a deep purple-pink color that is rather similar to the American Beautyberry. Plant in an area that recieves some morning sun, but protect it from the hottest parts of the afternoon, as the leaves will scorch in the summer sun. Once established, it is somewhat drought tolerant, but may need supplemental watering in summer.
