Willow-Leaf Jessamine – A beautiful and unique shrub hailing from Chile, Cestrum parqui is new to us at the John Fairey Garden. Our Director of Horticulture and Living Collections, Wally Wilkins, collected seed from mature plants in Parque Nacional La Campana during a trip in 2025. We have not yet trialed it through a winter, but we suspect that it will be a die-back perennial for us. At maturity, this shrub stands about 5 feet tall, and is covered in light yellow (nearly green) tubular flowers, much adored by the hummingbirds and butterflies. Plant in full sun, and keep well-watered in the summer, as the foliage tends to get wilty when feeling thirsty.
