Trailing Indigo Bush – A gorgeous subshrub with silver foliage that is sure to brighten up any landscape. Native to the Trans-Pecos region of Texas, this trailing perennial thrives in rocky dry soils, and is the perfect choice for exposed sunny areas of your yard. From late spring through early fall, small purple blooms emerge intermittedly on the branches, attracting all manner of pollinators. Over time, the trailing branches will root into the ground, creating a dense mat of silver foliage. However, it is also very simple to prune back if you wish to contain it to a specific area. Plant in full sun and in well-draining soil. Although it is mostly drought tolerant, it will require some supplemental watering during the summer.
