Encelia farinosa

Brittlebrush – A classic xeric perennial native to much of the southwestern US. This scrubby shrub grows to be about 3-4 feet tall with velvety silver-white foliage. Throughout the spring, small daisy-like yellow flowers emerge densely on the top of the canopy, transforming the rounded shape into a bright yellow ball of blooms. In its native habitat, Brittlebrush grows in very rocky and sandy soils, recieving little rain even in summer which makes it exceptionally drought tolerant. Plant in full, blistering sun and just sit back and enjoy!
