Physostegia correllii

Correll's False Dragonhead – A rare and endangered perennial native to Lousiana, Texas, and parts of Mexico. When planted in a marshy or wet spot, this herbaceous plant thrives and spreads rhizomatously to form a small patch of bright green foliage. Beginning in early summer and persisting through early fall, flower stalks emerge containing tubular spotted purple blooms that are constantly swarmed by bees and other pollinators. Like other plants in the Physostegia genus, these flowers have an almost snapdragon-like appearance, and would look beautiful in a cottage-style garden! Plant in part sun and in moist or partially wet soil. Ensure that the plant is well watered, especially in the summer.
