Arkansas Oak – A rare oak in cultivation and listed as Vulnerable by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), this gorgeous deciduous tree deserves to be protected! Typically growing to be about 50 feet tall, the foliage of the Arkansas Oak is bright green with attractive rounded lobes. The bark is a deep grey with a classic oak texture, making it an attractive ornamental feature in the landscape. Because of its vulnerable status, it is becoming ever-important to establish ex-situ (outside of its native populations) sites for conservation purposes. If you would like to be a part of this effort, consider taking home an Arkansas Oak today! Plant in full sun and keep well watered for the first two summers.
