Emory Oak – An evergreen oak native to the Trans-Pecos region of Texas. The small glossy leaves look similar to a holly, but this drought tolerant oak can actually grow up to 70 feet tall with a canopy 75 feet wide! Naturally found in the foothills and canyons of west Texas, this oak is drought tolerant and cold hardy, making it a valuable addition to our Garden as we navigate the ever-changing climate. Plant in full sun and in rocky, well-draining soil. Although it is drought tolerant, it will need supplemental watering for its first two years in the ground until it becomes established.
