Schottky's Oak – A stoic, true evergreen oak that hails from southwestern China. The leaves remain dark and glossy year round, providing a lovely backdrop for the copious amounts of ring-cupped acorns it produces in late fall. This tree makes for a wonderful privacy screen when left unpruned, as the branches are dense and will touch the ground if undisturbed. However, it also makes for a wonderful canopy tree if limbed up, which also exposes the beautiful lichen covered bark of the trunks. We've found this tree to be very cold hardy, receiving no frost damage down to 20 degrees Fahrenheit. This oak is not yet common in cultivation, so get in on the ground level and take home this tree today!
