A distinctive shrubby sage that was introduced by YuccaDo Nursery (owned by John Fairey and Carl Schoenfeld). Growing up to be about 3 feet tall and 3 feet wide, ‘Orange Door’ is exceptionally cold hardy and will become woody as it ages. In order to get the best spring flush and summer flowers, we recommend pruning back the old wood in late winter. In late spring, small coral-pink flowers emerge on short flower stalks, and are heavily frequented by our native pollinators. ‘Orange Door’ is also very drought tolerant, and needs next-to-no extra water, with the exception of late summer months. Plant in full sun and in well-draining soil.
