Lizard's Tail – A vivacious semi-aquatic perennial native to eastern Asia. This blooming plant is perfect for rain gardens or backyard ponds, as it thrives in saturated muddy soils. In our climate, it typically grows to be just over 1 foot tall, and spreads rhizomatously under the soil. Due to its rhizomatous and fast-growing nature, we do not suggest planting this in an area where it could take over; rather, plant it in a container or restrict it to a type of trough planting. Throughout the summer, attractive white blooms emerge from the tops of the stems, looking almost like a fuzzy tail, hence the common name. Plant in full or part sun and in saturated soil.
