A drought tolerant sub-shrub native to Mexico. Growing to be only about 6-8 inches tall and 1 foot wide, this flowering perennial is perfect for crevice beds, small gardens, or those with limited planting space (there's always room for one more!). In late spring, the small purple and white flowers emerge and are beloved by some of our smaller native pollinators. You can find an excellent example of this plant happily wedged between some rocks outside of our front office, or in our crevice bed. Plant in full sun and in well-draining soil. Scutellaria mulleri is reasonably drought tolerant, but will need some supplemental watering in summer.
