Spanish Dagger – A stiff-leafed yucca native to the brush country of Texas. At maturity, Spanish Dagger can grow up to 10 feet tall with leaves up to 3 feet long. Its upright, unbranched, and statuesque form makes it a beautiful ornamental plant, especially for xeric and native gardens. In late winter to early spring, Spanish Dagger produces a large flower stalk containing creamy white bell-shaped flowers that are actually edible and are great fried up or stuffed. Plant in full to part sun and in well-draining soil. Spanish Dagger is drought tolerant but benefits from some irrigation in the hot summer months.
